First Responders

The Kineo Center offers specialized counseling and therapy for adults and families in the military, law enforcement, firefighting, emergency medical services, and dispatcher communities.

First Responders routinely face complex trauma in their line of work, often without effective trauma management training provided by their employers. The independent culture within these professions frequently affects both First Responders and their families beyond the workplace.

The nature of their work means encountering unexpected traumas and dangers daily, experiences that are difficult for the general public to understand. Therefore, therapists working with First Responders require specific training and education to meet their unique needs.

Providing therapy to First Responders and their families is a significant honor. It involves a unique partnership that respects the strong bonds and pride within their community.

Most First Responders enter their field driven by a passion to help others and make a difference. At The Kineo Center, we aim to ensure they receive competent, high-quality care. Our providers are skilled in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP), and other modalities to help First Responders manage their traumas and reduce stress.

First Responders often delay seeking support until they reach a crisis point. The Kineo Center is committed to working with local First Responders to provide access to superior mental health care before crises develop, integrate a community of ongoing mental health care
